The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has inaugurated its campaign headquarters in Abuja as part of efforts to mobilize grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking at the inauguration on behalf of High Chief Dr Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, High Chief Kestin Pondi described the headquarters as a strategic command centre for the movement’s grassroots mobilisation campaign in support of President Tinubu and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the initiative went beyond the opening of a physical structure, describing it as a renewed effort to take the message of the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda to households and communities across the country.
According to him, the inauguration by the First Lady added significance to the movement’s mission and strengthened its commitment to reaching households, wards, communities, markets and places of worship to canvass support for the president.
He noted that the movement had, in recent months, engaged citizens and communities to explain why Tinubu deserved a second term, expressing optimism that its door-to-door campaign would translate into votes at the 2027 polls.
“Our message is clear. Nigeria is not standing still. Nigeria is moving forward,” he said, while acknowledging the challenges associated with the administration’s economic and security reforms.
High Chief Kestin Pondi maintained that although the reforms required patience and sacrifice, Nigerians must look beyond present difficulties and remain hopeful about the country’s long-term prospects.
He added that major reforms were rarely achieved without temporary hardship, adding that countries regarded as global success stories had also undergone prolonged periods of economic and structural adjustments.
According to him, the administration’s reforms should be assessed with a long-term perspective rather than solely on the basis of immediate challenges.
He further defended Tinubu’s decision to implement the reforms from the beginning of his administration on May 29, 2023, stating that difficult decisions were necessary to reposition the country for sustainable development.
He said the movement was seeking another four-year mandate for the president, arguing that the reforms required sufficient time to achieve their intended outcomes.
The inauguration marks a step in the movement’s preparations for the 2027 general election, with the group pledging to intensify grassroots engagement and mobilize support for Tinubu and other APC candidates
